Tracy Edingfield

Tracy Edingfield :

After driving in the fast lane as a trial attorney and solo practitioner, I took the off-ramp and began a second career as a writer. Heeding the advice to 'write what you know,' my first book was a legal thriller following young associate, Cooper Bach, through her first job. What I discovered, after writing that book, is that the law no longer appealed to me, so I turned my back on it entirely and wrote Regency romances.

Only by looking back on my experience later did I understand that I hadn't actually left law. I used the research skills I'd learned in law school to explore the historical era, and used those rich details to layer my writing. The years I'd spent listening to my clients pouring their tales out gave me an 'ear' for writing dialogue, and the strategic mindset I employed in cross-examinations became vital when puzzling out characters' motivation.

The gifts I'd used as a laywer held me in good stead as a novelist, so I am twice-blessed in my career choices. I hope you enjoy my books and find them filled with grace, courage, and wit. I wish you your own Happily Ever After. Please follow me on social media if you'd like. I love talking with readers!
