I was born in London, moved to Harlow in Essex when I was nine and studied to be a teacher at S Martin's College of Education.I married and when my children were small we moved to North Yorkshire.

When I retired from teaching I attended creative writing courses and then became a member of The Next Chapter writing group.With this group I attended a course called 'Write a Book in a Year'. The tutor was Jackie Buxton. It took longer than a year but eventually I finished 'Forced to Flee'.

This book was about two families caught in the ethnic cleansing of Kosovar Albanians during the collapse of Yugoslavia. The success of this book encouraged me to write another that is now for sale called, 'The Pathway Back.'
